My brain is fried.

To paraphrase many Chicagoans this past couple days... "Holy Shit It's Hot!!!" It's 90 degrees outside and it's not even 11am yet. Ouch! This humidity is what is killing me. It's so nasty outside that I am happy I get to spend the day at work in the central air! Now I am sure the people in New Orleans can say that this is nothing... but the fact is that I do not live in New Orleans (nor do I want to). And the people in Arizona can say that 100 degrees is nothing since they live through highs around 125... and they are nuts (no would I want to live there either). What fun is 125 degrees? Answer = none.

So I am just ranting about the heat today so I'll remember how lucky I am to live in a city that will be around 10 degrees below zero in five months.

The funk continues.

The last posting I published was on June 14... over a month ago. I have started many drafts over the past six weeks, but I just could not complete my thoughts. Maybe it's the over the top hot summer we are having in Chicago that is making my brain not work... and keeping me in the funk. Hopefully I'll get off my ass and finish some of the ideas I have started...

Indy Team 7 Advances to the Playoffs.

The official news came in today that we have made it the the playoffs... with only two wins! The playoffs start on August 12, and it is a one loss elimination. My guess is that we will only be playing one more game, but at least we made the cut!

Indy Team 7 Wins.

Holy Shit! My softball team won a game! And this time it was not by forfeit. Amazing! At the start of the game we were four people short but we begged some other teams' members to sub for our team and we felt good just for rounding up enough people to actually play a game. The guys we got to sub... they could hit the ball into the next field. We led the entire game and actually had more fun winning than losing (imagine that). After the game LP informed me that the team we were playing against had consumed 30 cans of Miller Lite and one small bag of weed.
